Angina pectoris is a disease in which the arteries in the heart called “coronary arteries” that supply blood to the myocardium (heart muscle) become narrowed due to atherosclerosis, resulting in a temporary lack of oxygen to the myocardium and causing chest pain and pressure sensations.
